PM's magic wand now redundant | Bangkok Post: opinion


It was a much-needed lifeline for the never-ending promises of the military junta to bring the country back to a democratic system. In the worst-case scenario, this means that the country can now expect a general election by no later than November 2018. The gathering of political parties has been banned ever since the coup and there has been little, if any, leniency shown towards this issue by the coup leaders. The NCPO and voters alike have been looking forward to changes in the political parties. The magic wand that Gen Prayut had used to hold an iron grip on power has since Thursday been snatched from his hand.
